Enjoy Outdoor Dining in Bloomsburg, PA and Beyond

There’s nothing like enjoying dinner outside on a nice
summer evening. Fortunately there are some nice options in the Bloomsburg area
for our Inn guests who want to get a taste of what the area has to offer.
What’s more summertime fare than beer and burgers? You’ll
find plenty of both at the West End Ale House. Six tables set up on the brick
sidewalk out front give diners a front-row seat to downtown activities. The pub
boasts an extensive beer list and, in addition to burgers, has sandwiches, fish
and chips and several other entrees.

A patio with twinkling lights and umbrella-topped tables
makes for comfortable outdoor dining at Marley’s Brewery and Grille. Located in
the historic Hotel Magee building, Marley’s is known for its quality home brews
such as the Pack Dog Peanut Butter Ale that won a bronze at the 2013 Great
American Beer Festival. Check out their beers, as well as the wide variety of
guest beers on tap. The brewpub is known for their great brick oven menu,
including pizzas, flatbread appetizers and hearty calzones. It also serves
steaks, seafood and a range of chicken dishes.

Over in Danville, the Old Forge Brewing Company has tables
and chairs out-front  and a great
selection of cool brews inside, including their flagship Overbite IPA and Slack
Tub Stout. A large listing of burgers, in addition to sandwiches and seven or
so entrees provide sustenance. A favorite with diners is the loaded-up beer
chili nachos, one of several appetizers made for sharing.   
Old Forge Brewing Company

Grab a seat by the outdoor fire pit on the dining patio at
The Lightstreet Hotel, and you’ll be cozy even if there’s a chill in the air.
Located just about five miles from the Inn, the hotel’s history dates back to the
1850’s. No longer run as a hotel, the old rooms are now a large banquet room
and private bar. The menu in the main restaurant is casual, featuring beer-battered
fish, steaks, chicken and pastas, as well as a wide range of sandwiches and

If dining amid the beauty of a park sounds appealing, head
over to Ricketts Glen State Park and the Ricketts Glen Hotel. The outdoor patio
here is a lovely place to enjoy an evening meal. Starters include a Steak and
Ale Chowder and New England Clam Chowder; entrees include fish and chips and
the house specialty Roast Beef Rickets, a sandwich with Swiss cheese and
horseradish sauce.

Of course, one of the prettiest settings of all for dining is
back at the Inn at our Farmhouse restaurant, where the Greenhouse Dining Room
