August brings art days, not dog days, to northern Pennsylvania with Bloomsburg Art Walk’s ArtFest August 6, 2016. Plan a stroll through this annual summertime street fair featuring original works by exceptional regional artists, accompanied by live music and creative activities to bring out the inner artist in you. Wander from tent to tent, where you’ll find 30 artists and artisans ready to visit with you about their creations in a wide range of media from clay to precious metals and fiber art to photography. Be sure to visit ArtFest’s Facebook page this month, where you’ll find new postings each week of different artists’ creations to help you plan your day on Center Street. You’ll find art of the culinary and acoustic types at ArtFest as well – tasty offerings from local restaurants and the sounds of jazz, bluegrass, or blues from local musicians. You’ll want to make plans to go back to the Inn for a casual dinner at the Turkey Hill Brewing Co.’s Pub and Grill before returning to ArtFest’s evening entertainment where Gabe Stillman and the Billtown Giants will be performing in concert at the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble’s Alvina Krause Theatre. Their concert is presented by the Exchange’s Destination Blues Music Festival. As the evening ends, be sure to stargaze and find Sirius, the dog star whose appearance marks the ‘dog days’ of summer.
